DAAD Graduate Study Scholarships Program:

DAAD Graduate Study Scholarships Program provides independent study in Germany or for a full Master’s degree program to the highly qualified candidates. Master’s Scholarships will be provided to the undergraduate aspirants from North American Universities. Aim is to flourish the German culture and strengthen the ties with the International aspirants. Mutual cultural enhancement and professional enrichment are some other objectives of this scholarship program for both the scholarship holders as well as for the hosts.

Introduction to Scholarship Provider:

DAAD University funded this program for the aspirants from US and Canada. DAAD will provide the monthly stipends and cater living expenses of the aspirants from Canada and United States. Aim of this scheme is to promote research culture from a multidisciplinary perspective.

  • Scholarship holder will be provided by following benefits:
  • Monthly stipend of 750 Euro will be provided
  • A flat rate subsidy will be provided for travel expenses (US East: 850 Euro, US West: 1,075 Euro; Canada East: 925 Euro, Canada West: 1,300 Euro)
  • Health insurance
  • Limited fund will be provided for a rent subsidy
  • Family allowance will also been provided


Applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria in order to ripe the above mentioned benefits:

  • Be enrolled as undergraduates in their last year in accredited North American universities
  • Aspirants with all academic areas are warmly welcome but clinical science degrees i.e. dentistry, pharmacy, medicine, or veterinary medicine will not be entertained.
  • Candidates should not have been living in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application
  • Aspirants must have US or Canadian citizenship
  • Have high proficiency in English language
  • Applicants for applying for humanities and social sciences should be proficient in German language

How to Apply:

Candidate must mail the following attachments in a set of 1 original and 3 copies of each document (collate the documents but don’t staple):

  • Completely fill the application form (should be signed)
  • Provide clear and precise Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Submit latest transcripts of aspirants’ academic records from reputed universities
  • Provide a study plan or research proposal for an independent study plan
  • Submit a reference letter from a professor or associate professor from aspirant’s home university
  • Submit a cover letter in which aspirant must state his/her motivation for applying a specific project
  • Provide  letter of recommendations from two professors in respective fields
  • Physical medical examination form
  • DAAD Language Evaluation Form (Sprachzeugnis)
