Scholarship Targeted Audience:

Students of developing countries including, Asia, Latin America, Africa, and Eastern Europe who want to pursue their PhD degree under the Netherlands Fellowship Program (NFP). Therefore, half scholarships will award to female aspirants and other half will award to aspirants from sub-Saharan Africa. However, preference will give to those aspirants for non-central regions distinct by the embassies.

It is awarding scholarship value of €85,000 for PhD Degree research program. In addition, this scholarship value includes living allowances, visa cost, and travel allowance, and insurance allowance according to the NFP criteria. However, students can seek the additional funding for Postgraduate Studies (PhD Degree). The maximum period of a PhD Degree under this fellowship program is four years. The PhD Degree must commence corresponding to a ‘sandwich’ or ‘picnic’ model. According to this model, students must complete at least a quarter of the PhD Degree in their home country.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a mid-career professional with minimum 3 years work experience of relevant field.
  • Applicants must be a national of developing countries listed on the updated NFP country list.
  • Applicant must consider by his employer who promise to offer the applicant’s salary as well as assurance the applicant will start their job after completing their PhD program.
  • Aspirant must have an unconditional offer for doctoral degree program from any Dutch institution.
  • Aspirant must not employ by a multinational company, a big national or commercial company.
