CAS-TWAS

CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship Program is a new agreement between the Chinese Academy of sciences (CAS) and TWAS. This program provides PhD fellowship scholarships to 140 scholars every year from the developing countries of the world. It aims to flourish the research culture in developing countries.

Introduction to Scholarship Provider:

Scholarship is jointly offered by CAS and TWAS, aims to provide PhD scholarships to the developing world in China’s reputed universities. TWAS will offer round-trip traveling for 50 awardees each year to and from China and one way travel support to 80 awardees. TWAS also responsible for visa concerns.

Benefits:

TWAS provides travel support in following way:

• Round-trip travel to and from China to 50 awardees
• One-way travel support to 80 Awardees
• Visa support
• Excess luggage fees (for 12 months stay in China)

CAS provides:

• PhD fellowship
• Monthly payment to cater living and accommodation expenses
• Local travel expenses
• Health insurance of RMB 7,000 or RMB 8,000 through UCAS
• Practical research and dissertation expenses
• 4 months courses in Chinese language and Culture

Eligibility:

                Candidate must:

• Not continue any other project simultaneously with this fellowship
• Be citizen of developing countries (except China)
• Not held any visa for permanent or temporary residency in a developed country
• Be held responsible for accompanying family member’s financial concerns
• Have masters degree from any reputed institute
• Provide surety to return back to their home countries
• Provide English and Chinese proficiency certificates or any other evidence
• Provide  letter of recommendations from two professors in respective fields

Download and duly fill the “Admission application form for International students of UCAS” and “Application Form for the CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship” followed by the following attachments:

• Attested copies of highest degree certificates (pre-graduation certificate or equivalent)
• Attested copies of required academic transcripts (graduate and undergraduate degrees)
• CV
• Detailed research proposal
• Copy of first page of regular passport
• Provide List of Publications
• Copy of the title page and abstract of aspirant’s each published research paper
• Physical medical examination form

• Name Two References
• Comprehensive outline of research proposal
